- This is a question I get asked literally every week, and I don't
blame the reason people ask me, it's because when you literally search for
online tools that can be used for an SEO audit, the information is so
contradictory, it can be so overwhelming and literally just confuse you.
- Three of the biggest tools you've probably seen online when
you've done any search an SEO audit tool is probably DeepCrawl, you've probably
seen Sitebulb and others you've probably seen, the most common will be
Screaming Frog. So DeepCrawl and Sitebulb,
both are actually paid tools.
- They work very, very well, both. However, I do in fact, I
don't find them more effective or useful than Screaming Frog and Screaming Frog
is actually free to use. Screaming Frog is a tool we use ourselves at
ClickSlice in the agency.
- I highly, highly recommend Screaming Frog over any other SEO
audit tool. Number one is because it's free and literally does everything these
other two tools do.
- So long because your website has less than 500 pages, which
I assume a lot of people are watching video will have a website with less than
500 pages for which you can use Screaming Frog completely free.
- If you have a website that has more than 500 pages, unfortunately
I have to pay for the paid version which I think is ₤150 for a year license, which
is still really, really good value.
- So once you go to Screaming Frog which I link to in the
download link sources, what you want to do is go to the SEO Spider tab right
here, and if you're scrolling down, we can look at all the features of Screaming
Frog. So you can see when you can easily
find broken links with this tool.
- So be all the broken links you have on yours Website. You
can analyze page titles and Meta descriptions. You can even generate XML Sitemaps.
You can browse any site; it's not just a WordPress site, so you can browse JavaScript
pages too.
- Wix websites, Weebly, e-commerce stores, it really doesn't matter;
you can browse literally any web page. You can find all the redirects your site
has, so it could be 301 redirects. You may discover duplicate content.
